We made it to our final destination, Arequipa, on Friday night. Arequipa is also known as the ‘white city’ because of the white stones used for most of their buildings. These stones are quarried from the numerous volcanoes around the city. One of them, Misty Mountain, is still active today. This city was by far our favorite, because of the beautiful buildings and architecture, and teh cobblestone streets which made it feel very European.

While here we stayed in an old monastery converted into a small boutique hotel, CIRQA, around the corner of the Plaza de Armas and the main cathedral of the city.

We have definitely enjoyed our time here at this hotel. The meals, service and attention to detail have been spectacular, and we are sad to leave.
