Today we took a day-trip to Monte Carlo. We took a scenic 20-minute train ride from Nice, which had gorgeous view of huge mansions and beautiful sights along the Mediterranean.
Once we got there, we went forts to the world famous Monte Carlo Casino. Since there’s a big tennis tournament going on in the city, it had lots of tennis decorations out front. We were able to go into the Main lobby and see the beautiful marble columns and stained glass. They also had a beautiful centerpiece with the biggest red roses I’ve ever seen.
Then we walked around the tiny country/city admiring the huge buildings and even huger yachts in the harbor. We took a bus to the Royal Palace, saw the changing of the guards and admired the views.
The weather was perfect, sunny and warm. They were also setting up for the Grand Prix, next month. They had grandstands and they were putting barriers up along the race path. It was the cleanest and safest city/country I have ever been in. Another country checked off our bucket list.
