We finally made it to Nairobi, after 3 flights, 2 layovers totaling a long 26 hrs of travel. We stayed at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden and Cottages, located in a suburb of Nairobi, about 20 minutes from downtown. It was definitely the higher-end suburb, with very large properties and beautiful surroundings.
We walked over to the Karen Blixen Museum, famous author of ‘Out of Africa’, which was her former home in the 1920’s. We had a tour of the grounds and her home, and how she lived with a lot of her furnishings and belongings that she owned.
Then we went to Giraffe Center, where they have the endangered Rothschilds Giraffes.
