Today we flew from Mykonos back to Athens, and Auntie Rima continued traveling back home, while we had a shuttle pick us up and drive us about 2 hours west of Athens, to Nafplio – a coastal city located in the Peloponnese part of Greece.
The drive was very scenic – past olive and orange groves, and through the mountain ranges, which had forts built up on top of them. Once we arrived, it was one of the most beautiful towns, very quaint and charming.
We spent the afternoon wandering around the town. Admiring the old buildings and taking in the three forts built around the town. One was in the bay, one just above the town and the largest was 999 steps up to the top of the highest peak overlooking the old town.
We took a train ride around town and walked around some more. We all loved the ambience and were excited to spend our final days here exploring.
